American announces new routes to Mexico

american airlines mexico routeAmerican Airlines announced eight new routes yesterday, of which two are destinations in Mexico.

The airline will offer flights twice daily from Los Angeles to Mexico City beginning September 3. It will operate a Boeing 737-800 on the route.

On November 7 it will begin flying twice a week from Los Angeles to Mazatlán with a seasonal service that will run until August, resuming again in November. The Saturday and Sunday flights will be aboard an Embraer E-175 aircraft.

The other six new routes connect Charlotte, North Carolina, with Curacao and Dominican Republic, Dallas-Forth Worth with Quito, Ecuador, and Dominican Republic, Chicago with Dominican Republic, and New York JFK with Caracas, Venezuela.

The airline also said it is investing in improvements such as international Wi-Fi and more in-flight entertainment options and power outlets.
